While the institution wobbles, the game bearing its name thrives.
It’s taken over 20 years, but the FIFA series has finally dropped its XY-only policy and brought women’s football to the game. FIFA 16 sees the introduction of international squads for women, offering the ability to play friendlies and a few tournaments with the female footballers. Player and team stats have been modified, though EA is coy as to exactly how, simply stating the women’s game focuses on different attributes than the men’s, but it certainly doesn’t result in a sideshow attraction – this is FIFA as you know and love it, but nowwith the creamof women’s football able to be controlled. About time.
