ASUS gave this card its usual red and black design, and one of the more noticeable aspect of the graphic card is the copper wiring entwined within the device. It also has two cooling fans with the usual variety of display ports on its back which include a HDMI output, three DisplayPorts and one DVI-I port. Other than that it has a solid build that feels durable and lasting.

As part of the new generation of NVIDIA graphic cards, this device comes with all the latest features from NVIDIA such as Voxel Illumination and Dynamic Super Resolution. It also features an extremely quiet setup thanks to its DirectCU II with 0dB Fan Technology which provides minimal noise during gaming and maintains temperatures to an all-time low. Bundled with the graphic card is the ASUS GPU Tweak which allows users to easily stream their games and view detailed specifications on their system.

Moving on to the fun part, we took the card for our benchmark test and also played a few games on it. We tested the device on Futuremark’s 3DMark and the results were predictably amazing with the graphic card flying through all the tests with little effort. When we tested games such as Crysis 3, Thief and Skyrim, we were able to bring out the maximum settings in all of the above with anti-aliasing and ultra-high settings being activated on all these games. The results were beautifully rendered games that flow with minimal lag.

So for those who are looking to upgrade their rigs from the old NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti would find the new ASUS Strix GeForce GTX 980 to be a worthy successor as it provides silent gaming at amazing performances but only to those who are willing to pay its premium price.
